Brian Rogers has been playing pen and paper role playing games since 1981 when he received his first Red Box Basic D&D set. He's been doing amateur and professional writing about games since 2001 when he started contributing to Alarums & Excursions, and has had his work published in Dragon Magazine and Pyramid Magazine (some of these ephemra are even still available in Pyramid vol 3 issues 2, 4 and 6, and no, he doesn't get royalties for these - this note is driven by sheer ego).
In the last 30+ years he's GMed or played in four editions of D&D, Villains and Vigilantes, various classic World of Darkness games, Star Trek (the Decipher version), Star Wars (the West End Games Version), Zorcerer of Zo, Amber, Earthdawn, Call of Cthulhu, Pendragon, Champions, Marvel Super Heroes , Feng Shui, Unknown Armies, Chill, Runequest (2nd edition), Dream Park, Cyberpunk, Castle Falkenstein, Gamma World (2nd and 3rd editions), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gangbusters!, Everway, Dark Conspiracy, Silver Age Sentinels, Big Eyes Small Mouth, Chivalry & Sorcery, Godlike and any number of home brew systems and settings. While this might not give him a unique insight into game design it does mean his head is stuffed to the gills with conflicting mechanics that occasionally force their way out through his keyboard.
